School Education Department proposes reduction for promotion of ZEOs to Principals
Srinagar, Oct 31 : The percentage of ZEOs eligible for key promotions has been suggested to be lowered from twenty percent to five percent by the authorities.
The School Education Department has proposed that, in light of their cadre strength, it reduce the current 20 percent Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) for principal advancement to 5 percent.
The Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a news organization, reports that there are currently close to 200 ZEOs in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, the government has requested comments on another proposal under the modification of the Jammu and Kashmir School Education service recruitment rules-2023, stating that the "B.ed degree has been added to the existing qualification of existing PG only as per NCERT guidelines."
It states, "JK PSC is proposing to conduct a limited departmental examination for promotion purposes in addition to BED, and JK SCERT shall prepare the syllabus."
