Fire Service Job Aspirants in Srinagar Protest, Demand Action on Grievances
On July 10 in Srinagar, a group of individuals seeking jobs in the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) held a demonstration at the city's Press Enclave. The protesters, who wore shrouds to draw attention to their cause, were demanding justice and calling attention to their grievances.
According to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) news agency, the job-seekers had submitted a report outlining their demands seven months prior but had not seen any action taken in response. Nisar Ahmad, one of the F&ES aspirants, appealed to the LG administration to address their concerns urgently.
Ahmad emphasized that the protesters were all citizens of India with valid identification documents, including Aadhar cards. Despite their repeated demonstrations, they had yet to receive any updates regarding the status of their inquiry report. The protesters hope that their latest demonstration will bring more attention to their situation and encourage authorities to take action.
