Kasmiri youth updates app for Ramzan, adds feature to know Suhoor, Iftar time across world
This Ramadan, a young engineer from Kashmir updated his software "Iftar Kar" to add a new function that gives users timely information about the times for iftar and suhoor based on their locations.
The Kashmiri community, particularly the youth, have made extensive use of the app since its initial debut in 2020 to provide details regarding iftar and suhoor timings throughout Ramadan. Also, the app has calendars for iftar and suhoor according to Jafaria Fiqh and Ahl al-Hadith, as well as Sehri and Iftar calendars organised by district and region.
An Islamic app being developed by Haider Ali Punjabi would also have features like Quran recitation and prayer times. CovidKashmir.org, a website created to follow Covid-19 in J-K and provide related information, was previously worked on by Punjabi and two pals.
